Puppy Prep School

Veterinarians and Animal Behaviorists agree that even a one-week delay in training and socialization can have a life-long effect on a young puppy.
If your pup is between 10 weeks – 5 months of age you are eligible for this class. This class teaches responsible dog ownership, basic obedience cues, and proper ways to socialize your dog.

6-week course
Monday Class Dates: September 9, 16, 23, 30 , Oct. 7 & 14
Time: 7:00-7:45 p.m.
Cost: $185
Location: Club Canine, Training room

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
This class will prepare your puppy for the AKC Star Puppy Test which will be offered during class at no additional charge!

Basic Obedience Classes (Level 1,2 & 3)

For dogs 6 months of age and older. These classes are designed to help you achieve your obedience goals at a pace you are comfortable with. We will help you determine which level your dog is ready to begin in and, we will move your dog through the levels as he or she is ready. These classes are not suitable for dogs with aggression tendencies toward humans or dogs. We also require that dogs age 1 year and older are spayed and neutered. bulldog

Sunday Class Dates:
September 8, 15, 22, 29 , Oct. 6 & 13
Time: 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Cost: $185

AKC Canine Good Citizen
These classes will prepare you for the Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Level 1:  Getting Started!  Establishing a healthy relationship, Basic skills & FUN!

  • Leadership skills-establishing healthy boundaries.
  • Sit, Lie Down, Stay – with verbal and/or hand signal, intermittent rewards
  • Come and sit-on leash
  • Sit for petting
  • Leave it command
  • Intro to socialization with other humans & dogs

All dogs will start in Level 1 (even those with prior training). Requirements to move to level 2: Dog can sit and lie down on cue.  Dog will stay for at least 10 seconds with mild distractions.  Dog will respond readily to his name and come when called.  Dog will sit politely for petting.

Level 2:  Manners and Life Skills Training & FUN!boxer

  • Sit stay with mild distractions
  • Down stay – with mild distractions
  • Come and sit – on leash, from distractions
  • Walking with a loose leash – for 30 feet past distractions
  • Wait at the door
  • Wait for the food bowl
  • Confidence building exercises- Fun agility!
  • Socialization with other humans & dogs.

Requirements to move to Level 3:  Dog can walk nicely around the training area with attention on the owner and not pulling.  Dog will come when called on leash with mild distractions. Dog will sit and stay with mild distractions for 60 seconds.  Dog will lie down and stay with mild distractions for 60 seconds. Dog will sit and wait at the door.

Level 3:  Advanced Life Skills Training with Distractions & FUN!

  • Sit stay- with moderate distractions
  • Down stay- with moderate distractions
  • Come and Sit- off leash, past distractions
  • Heel-for 30 feet past other dogs
  • Intro to off leash training
  • Socialization with other humans & dogs

Requirements to graduate Level 3:  Dog can sit and stay for 2 minutes.  Dog can lie down and stay for 3 minutes.  Dog will come when called with moderate distractions and sit.  Dog will wait for food bowl.  Dog will heel indoors off leash for 30 feet with mild distractions.


To register please come to Club Canine to complete our registration form and pay your tuition.

Absolutely no refunds or transfers will be permitted unless you notify us of your cancellation at least 7 days prior to the first day of classes.

*Dogs must be up to date on vaccines including Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Hepatitis and Bordetella (kennel cough). Puppies less than five months of age are not required to have the rabies vaccine unless recommended by your veterinarian. Dog’s over one year of age must be spayed or neutered. Dog’s in heat are not permitted in classes. We can not refund any missed classes due to your dog’s heat cycle.

Your registration will not be complete until payment has been made and we have received a copy of your dog’s vaccination record*.
